Is a single unit of donation value fixed?
The amount of a donation doesn’t matter. We are asking for cooperation based on your own sentiment.
Until when do you accept donations?
We have no deadline.
Is it possible to donate to a specific teacher or organization?
We accept donations in a manner meeting your wish as much as possible. Please add your wish (“for [faculty name]...” “for support of activities of existing members of [organization name]...”) in the correspondence column of the payment form. Please contact the Office for Community & Alumni Relationsfor further detail.

● How to donate

How can I contribute a donation?
It is possible to make remittance in various manners, such as trough windows of financial institutions and the Internet. Please confirm on this page.
Is a remittance fee required?
No commission fee is necessary if you use a designated payment form for remittance from the window of one of the banks below:
MUFG Bank
Mizuho Bank
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking
MUFG Trust & Banking
JapanPost Bank, post offices
In case you use Internet banking, transfer between the head office and branch of one of the above banks is free of charge.
We are very sorry, but donators are requested to bear other expenses, including remittance fees.

Deduction of donations

Deduction of donations
Donators to the SOPHIA Fund for the Future are eligible for preferential tax treatment. Please see this page for detail.
But this measure does not apply to the total donation within this year (January to December) of 2,000 yen or less.
If my total donation is 2,000 yen or less, can I enjoy a tax deduction?
If your total donations, including to an organization for which you have certification of a public interest incorporatedassociation,etc. as well as a donation to the School, exceed 2,000 yen ayear, the sum minus 2,000 yen becomes the amount subject to deduction from the donations.
How can I receive deduction?
Please submit to the tax office the following documents in filing tax returns in the year after your donation: “Receipt of donation” and “certificate of corporation contributing to public interest (copy)”or “certificate associated with income tax deduction (copy)” sent from the School. See this page for details of procedures. The Office for Community & Alumni Relations is unable to answer questions on details of how to fill out tax return forms. Please seek advice from the competent tax office.
Iforgot to take procedures for deduction of my donations when filing tax returns about the past donations. Can I file revised tax returns again?
You can file returns for one year retroactively. When no tax turns were filed (including special deduction for home acquisition), you can do so retroactively for up to five years in the past.

About donation receipts

Can I have a receipt of donation issued?
●Individual donators
[When designated payment form is used]
“Bank transfer payment bill-cum-receipt” received at the time of transferring your donation from an account at a financial institution represents a “receipt of donation.”
[Cases other than the above]
Our School will issue a receipt upon confirming the receipt of your donation.
Please be reminded that it takes a month or two to confirm the receipt of money paid by credit card.
●Donators of organizations
It is possible to issue a donation receipt under the name of an individual. Please contactthe Office for Community & Alumni Relations
Can I have a lost receipt issued again?
We will reissue a receipt. Please submit a written request for reissuance by fax, email or letter (specifying your name, amount, date of donation, contact address and phone number). Please also informus if you are in a hurry.
Is it possible to change the name and address written on the receipt?
We will issue it again after making the requested changes. Please submit a written request for reissuance by fax, email or letter (specifying your name, amount, date of donation, desired changes, contact address and phone number). Please also inform us if you are in a hurry.

● About commendation

Can you publish the name of a donator?
We will list the names of donators, if so desired, on a name list carried on a FUND FOR THE FUTUREfundraising brochure issued twice a year (spring/autumn), irrespective of the amount of donation. Please be reminded that the name to be announced will be that of a donator in principle.
Is there any perquisite for donation?
We provide every donator with a commemorative item as a token gift. For donators of large sums, we have a system of matching commendation in place. Please see this page for detail.
