Support for Sophia students in connection with COVID-19

Gratitude & request for continued support

We have received far more donations than initially anticipated from all of you, mainly graduate organizations led by the Sophia Alumni Association and individual graduates as well as parents of undergraduates, teaching and administrative staff, and benefactors, for the support of our School’s students that we had requested since May last year. We would like to express our wholehearted acknowledgement and gratitude once again for your kindness that strongly supports our wish to “prevent even a single student of our School from abandoning the continuation of studying.” The economic environment surrounding students is getting severe as the novel coronavirus epidemic is protracted. As a result, the number of students in financial hardship is expected to increase further. We assure you that our School will spare no effort to provide high-quality educational opportunities matching the school as a community of education and research comprising students, teachers and administrative staff. We would like to ask for your kind understanding and cooperation in continuing strong support for students so that they will return to the day when they can study with peace of mind again as soon as possible.
